Yet Another Blog
Yup, here we go. Another random person on the Internet has decided to start writing a blog.
Why?
First, setting up a blog in 2025 is ridiculously easy. A few minutes of tinkering with Hugo, some theme hunting, and boom—this blog exists. (Okay, maybe a bit longer if you’re also setting up hosting and a deployment pipeline.)
But let’s get to the real reason. In a few days, I’m turning 30 (old! At least, that’s what my friends say when they call me Grandpa Luci). Hitting this milestone has inspired me to declare 2025 as the year I take back my life—focusing on things that matter most, rediscovering passions, and leaving behind the turbulence of the past.
The last few years have been a rollercoaster, with plenty of ups and downs. Thankfully, 2024 ended on a high note, and now I’m channeling that momentum. I’ve got big plans—some geeky, some personal—and I want to document the journey. Even if no one reads this now, maybe it’ll help someone out there who’s starting a similar adventure in the distant future.
I was going to say something about New Year’s resolutions here, but apparently sharing them jinxes them, so I’ll keep them under wraps for now. Stay tuned for an end-of-year reveal—assuming I stick to them!
Lastly, I’m a geek through and through. Writing about my geeky findings in a space where I can use more than 280 characters? That’s a no-brainer. (Speaking of, I do sometimes ramble on Bluesky)
Who?
I’ll write a more detailed “Who am I?” post later, but for now:
I’m Luci. By day, I write code to keep identity and access management (IAM) systems running smoothly. In the fall, I teach a university course on software security. Somewhere in between, I explore all things geeky.
What?
This blog will be a mix of personal musings and geeky deep dives. Expect posts about IAM tricks, tech discoveries, teaching moments, and whatever else catches my curiosity.
So, here’s to new beginnings, geeky explorations, and taking back control in 2025. Let’s see where this journey leads!
